There’s nothing quite like fall in Tennessee. The leaves change to beautiful hues, there’s a chill in the air, and the weather causes residents to head outside and celebrate all of the fall activities! 


We’ve put together some of the top events in Tennessee that will be happening in October this Fall in the hopes of getting you out of the house and enjoying the milder temperatures and brisk autumn air. You can expect music and film festivals, food and wine celebrations, and more.

1. Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival




The Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival is not only one of Nashville’s favorite and most vibrant festivals, but also a celebration and reminder of what makes Nashville a great place to live. This FREE Festival provides an opportunity for intercultural dialogue through a Nashville festival experience and features a variety of dance and musical performances on different stages, food vendors offering authentic and exotic tastes from around the world, hands-on children’s activities, an area just for teens, a marketplace, and so much more!

2. 2022 Fall for Cheekwood


Join an afternoon of family fun, live music, hayrides, cocktails, BBQ dinner and more! Funds raised during Fall for Cheekwood support Cheekwood’s FREE education initiatives, providing access and programs to school children and families from Middle Tennessee and beyond.


When: Sunday, October 2nd at 4:30PM - 7PM

3. Fall Family Fun Festival 


This fall, bring the entire family to Lucky Ladd Farms for a harvest-time experience like no other. Enjoy all that autumn has to offer as the leaves begin to change in the cool crisp air; explore the corn maze, pick your pumpkins, bite into a juicy caramel apple and discover why Lucky Ladd Farms has become a family tradition for so many.

4. Nashville Oktoberfest 




Up to 300,000 people have attended this free, family-friendly festival in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood over the past years. Attendees can expect food, live music, vendors, beer, and entertainment. Some of the activities will include a Germantown 5k Bier Run, Bratwurst Eating Contest, and a Dachshund Derby.


When: September 17th to November 6th

5. Fall Tennessee Craft Fair


Over 150 craft artisans will fill the park, so stop by to do a little shopping. There will also be live demonstrations, kids’ activities, and food. Admission and parking are free.

6. BOOze at the Zoo




Grab your best costume and celebrate spooky season at the Zoo with unlimited BOOze samples, trick-or-treating, live music, and plenty of party animals! With some of the best vendors and festive scenery, BOOze at the Zoo is sure to be the wildest costume party in Nashville!

7. Nashville Humane’s Dog Day


On this day, “Music City USA” becomes Shih-Tzu-sic City USA! Appropriate greetings are done front to back, high fives are still high fives (they’re just better!) and the streets are paved with treats! That day is here… it’s Nashville Humane’s annual Dog Day presented by Mars Petcare! There will be food trucks, fun events, contests, a beer garden, and surprises throughout the day!

8. Pumpkinfest in Franklin




This street festival attracts over 70,000 attendees and features 150+ arts and crafts vendors, 30+ food and drink vendors, costume contests, children’s activities, and live entertainment. Admission is free.

9. Fall at the Gentry Farm


A visit to the Gentry Farm has become a long-standing family tradition for many each fall! They are a working farm and center their activities around making family memories and creating fun educational opportunities. Rather than carnival rides and petting zoos, they focus on hands-on learning and imaginative play. All activities are included with your admission!

10. Walden Pumpkin Farm
