When homeowners design and rearrange their living spaces, they often don’t think about one of the most important aspects of maintaining a home: Organization. Making the house pretty and showing it off to guests is usually at the top of their list. But what we neglect to remember is that organizing the things that visitors can and can’t see is a big part of making the living spaces decorative.

We’re not going to go into extreme detail today, but we will target the most important rooms in the house, like the bedroom, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and closets. We’ll mention an organizational tactic you can adopt, and hopefully that’ll spark additional ideas for you to put the entire house on the same page.

First up, the bedroom.

Bedroom Organization

Hangers! Hangers are just like Christmas ornament hooks; they easily tangle up into each other, making them extremely difficult to get loose.

We can think of a few areas your hangers are hanging out in right now - a random bin in the bedroom, the bottom of your closet, or jumbled up on the clothing racks you have. None of these scenarios scream organized.

Kitchen Organization

U-shaped shelving system! These delightful inventions are super helpful and practical to house kitchen supplies like spices or medicines. Plus, they fit in every type of cabinet you could have. Not to mention they’re a great way to keep track of what you have on hand; nothing can hide behind other containers this way.

Grab yourself one next time you head to the local home improvement store. They’re stackable and range in height to meet your preferred needs.

Our suggested solution would be for you to go out and purchase a hanger stacker. These nifty stands give you easy access to get hangers out - automatically making it easy to get clothes where they need to be. Who needs to fight with a bundle of hangers to put their laundry away? Not you.

Living Room Organization

Storage ottoman! Coming in multiple sizes, these small and medium-sized pieces of furniture give a cozy look to any living room. Fortunately, they also efficiently store many household and personal items like shoes, sweaters, sheets, pillows, and much more. Great for getting things off the floor and decluttering different areas of the home.

Sometimes, storage ottomans can even double team, serving as a bench to sit on or a footrest to kick back and relax with. Perfect for additional seating when you’re having a movie night in the at-home theater with your new projector set up!

Bathroom Organization

Expandable shelves! Things pile up under sinks rather quickly, especially in the bathroom. The last time you looked behind that cabinet door, what did you see? Likely different soaps, razors, face cloths, q-tips, toilet paper, ointments, toothpaste, and much more.

Organize all the random things with one sufficient organization tactic: The expandable shelves! Cleaning supplies can be housed here, too.

Closet Organization

Wall rack! Mops and brooms don’t have to hang out in the closet, falling and toppling over left and right. That’s not their purpose.

That’s why wall racks were invented, to stabilize those home cleaners and lift them off the floor. It’s not necessary to have unwanted dust clinging to the bottom of these cleaning utensils, especially when they’re not in use.

Rags and dustpans can find a home in these nifty wall racks, too.

Organizational household items don’t always have to be drop-dead gorgeous, adding an interior design element or aesthetic. Sometimes, functionality is more important, and as long as it doesn’t take up too much space or look completely ugly in a particular area of the home, then you have yourself a win!
